Safety at Velvet Haven

Connection with care and boundaries

Verification, community rules and moderation support a respectful adult community. They cannot eliminate risk or guarantee another person’s intentions or conduct.

Verification is one safeguard, not a guarantee

Membership requires independent government-ID age and identity verification and staff application review. Velvet Haven does not perform criminal-record or sex-offender background checks. An identity check is not criminal background screening.

Keep your own judgement at the centre of every introduction. You do not owe anyone a reply, personal information, money or continued contact.

Understand the joining process

Report a concern privately

Members can report concerns through the reporting controls in the member experience. Choose a reason and add relevant details if helpful. Reports go to the safety team; the reported member is not told who submitted the report.

Staff can review and confirm or dismiss reports. Reporting does not promise a particular decision or a response time. Report impersonation, harassment, suspected scams or other breaches of the community rules.

Block unwanted interaction

Blocking takes effect immediately inside Velvet Haven: interests and messages between the two members are blocked in both directions, and each is filtered from the other’s Discover and Messages views. Blocking also closes open interest.

You can later unblock from My profile. A block is an interaction control, not a substitute for reporting a serious concern or seeking emergency help.

Messages are screened before delivery

Outgoing member messages undergo automated, rules-based screening—not AI. The checks look for prohibited content such as scams, payment solicitation, exploitation, threats and attempts to move communication or payments off the platform.

A matching message is held rather than delivered and enters staff safety review. Rules can miss harmful content or flag a message mistakenly; screening is not a guarantee of safety.

Staff review and appeals

Staff review held messages and can confirm a violation or mark a false positive. Three staff-confirmed message violations suspend messaging pending review; pending flags and false positives do not count toward that threshold. Other serious policy breaches may lead to separate enforcement.

Members can view their own enforcement status and submit an appeal from their account. Staff review appeals and provide a response. Granting an appeal does not automatically erase strikes or restore messaging; enforcement changes are handled separately.

Practical precautions for every introduction

  • Respect boundaries. Accept a no and stop contacting someone who has disengaged.
  • Never send another member money, gift cards or cryptocurrency, or act on investment requests.
  • Do not share passwords, financial information, identity documents, your home address or other sensitive details.
  • Keep conversations within Velvet Haven and follow the rules against moving contact or payments off-platform.
  • If you choose to meet, use a public place, arrange your own transport and tell someone you trust your plans.
  • Report concerns and block unwanted interaction. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first. Velvet Haven is not an emergency service.
